Try it On for Size

I’m leaning into the idea of imagining being an active, collective verb rather than something that happens alone in your head.

Is there something that your possible future self might love that you could try on for size right now? Not just in your head, but in “real life”?

Damaged Roots

This past weekend, my husband and I hiked through an area of Kelowna, British Columbia that had been ravaged by wildfires last August.

This experience was new for us, and eerie.

I was expecting the landscape to be more barren than it was. But many trees were still standing. Some were visibly charred at the base but showing new growth at the top. Quite incredible.

From Panic to Possibilities

When you’re in the midst of adjusting to a new chapter, it’s easy to feel untethered or stuck. It can feel a bit like culture shock — the familiar markers are gone or aren’t serving you well anymore, but you aren’t yet sure how best to interpret the new signals you’re getting. Very disorienting.

So I’ve been thinking about the scaffolding that helps an organization or an individual move from panic to possibilities when navigating a transition.

Trust the Process

Have you ever been asked to “trust the process?”

It’s something I’ve invited groups or coaching clients to do, out loud and far more frequently in my head.

Why? Because the process of strategy building or navigating transitions can become fuzzier before it gets clearer, and if you give up on it too soon, you might be doing so just before the fog clears.
